Your Schedule for Cologne’s dmexco

Wednesday, September 13, 2017

6:00 am Clean yourself up and get ready to blow away the 50,000+ dmexco attendees with your awesomeness.

7:30 am Swap out cake for breakfast at Café Reichard before taking a tour of the 600-year-old Cologne Cathedral. (Got jetlag? The cathedral opens at 6 am.) Then take a quick tram over to the conference to be there just in time to meet with last year’s Best Travel Buddy (BTB) and sync the rest of your trip!

8:45-9:00 am Strut into the hall like you own the place. Head straight to your booth and make sure it’s ready to receive thousands of excited dmexc-ers when the 9:45 am official opening kicks off.

10:30 am Give your BTB the signal that it’s time to wise up with some expert insights. Head off to the Experience Hall and learn “How Holograms Will Change Marketing (and Our Life) Forever,” while your BTB catches the 2nd half of the “Data Protection Survival Guide for Digital Marketers.”

11:30 am Casually stroll back to your booth and glad-hand the 50 new prospects lined up to check out a demo of your amazing product.

1:00-1:45 pm A sucker for everything National Geographic, sit in on their lecture in Motion Hall on the “The Power of Digital Storytelling to Change the World,” while your BTB catches up on “Culture Shock – Dark Net, Fake News, Chatbots, and our future Communication” in the Experience Hall.

1:45-3 pm Afterwards sneak out with your BTB for your annual shopping trip on Ehrenstraße and the close-by Primark.

3:20-3:50 pm Run back in time to catch your ultimate #businessgirlcrush Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg’s keynote on “Building Community and Discovering Growth in a Mobile World” in the Congress Hall.

4 pm Forgot to eat? Munch on tasty tacos and drinks at our booth E21, hall 6!

5-6:30 pm After schmoozing, a little boozing, and landing new sales, you’re on a roll. Take a quick 15-minute break to check the surrounding happy hours, and then get ready for back-to-back meetings with clients who are so VIP you can’t reveal their names.

6:30-8:45 pm Pack up for the day, grab your BTB, and make your way over to the Belgian quarter for more shopping and a quick bite of Cologne classics: Halven Hahn (rye roll with cheese) and Himmel un Äd (mashed potatoes with apple mash). If weather and time permits, frolic through the botanical gardens.

9:30 pm – Till you pass out Make a casually late entrance at the official dmexco Pure Party, and accidentally walk into one of your biggest prospects! Schmooze over drinks and agree to discuss more tomorrow at the VIP Cologne Breakfast…now you just need to score an invite….Have a couple more beers, dance, and then jump to the UNofficial afterparty at OMClub. Proceed to party the night away.

7:00 am Try to remember your name as you shower, shave, and drink your first cup of coffee.

8:00 am Sneak into the Cologne Breakfast just as your VIP prospect enters. Shake hands to a three-month long trial over mimosas and smoked salmon tarts.

9:00-11:30 am Still buzzing from breakfast, grab your 4th cup of coffee and head over to the booth. Time to claim your rightful status as networKING/QUEEN.

11:30 am- 3:00 pm Tell your colleague you just saw Sheryl Sandberg and you just have to say hello and head out the door with your BTB for some city sights! (If Sheryl’s really there, try not to fangirl when you proclaim your admiration before heading out.) Time to gawk at some classics from the artistic masters at the Wallraf-Richartz Museum.

3:20-4:40 pm While taking notes on “Finding your Audience in an Attention Economy” with YouTube’s Robert Kyncl, in the Congress Hall, “run into” and chat with one of your bigwig prospects.

6:00 pm Toast to another fantastic conference with your BTB with a half-pint of Kölsch and the best schnitzel in the city at Gaststaette Bei Oma Kleinmann.

Of course…if you haven’t packed yet, don’t forget the essentials: company-branded clothes, comfy shoes, Tylenol, cough drops, a phone charger, a data plan, and a big smile for all the new friends you’re about to make and the networking you’re going to do. And remember to download the DMEXCO app. Keep that baby at your fingertips for a full list of exhibitors, speakers, conferences, a detailed hall plan, and all info on parties, check-in, and more!
